NDOTD 1/25... AAAND a DIY! aren't you lucky ;)

NDOTD (No Denim Of The Day) 1/25... damn this challenge already! i didn't wanna go out today lolz i wanted to stay inside and DIY every t-shirt i owned (after reading about this DIY on Fran Jayy's lovely blog) but just for youuuuu suckas... i got dressed :) and i had to go eat dinner & pick up sum necessities from the stoh' too... so yeah... blah...

[i was contemplating between the shirt tucked in or not... now that i look at it i kind of like the tucked in better even though it makes my torso look awkward hahaha <3 the awkward... well this was the final say...]
[cropped denim jacket - Faith 21 ($28), striped tee - old navy ($7 i think, on sale), black Free People skirt - thrifted, black leggings & simple skinny black headband - beauty supply/clothing store, necklace - island plus, big silver ring - charlotte russe ($4), big black jewel heart ring - gift (not visible)]

so while perusing a new blog i found (The Frantic Dreams of You're Modern Day Giant) i came across a DIY she's doing that she got from another blog i follow (Childhood Flames) for this awesomely simple/fun/grungy/did i mention awesome?! shredded tee! here's Camille's version (the simple v-neck, she also does a tank top in her tutorial video)

i was kind of confused on how to start the whole thing but i found this video that really simplifies it for anyone else who wants to try this

supplies:
- a knitted tee shirt or tank or anything! as long as its knitted (everyone keeps saying this doesn't work on woven fabrics, i have no technical knowledge so im just taking their word for it lolz)... and thats all!

here are my results, it looks almost like a mix between soft lace and cheese cloth... from far away lolz (i tested it out on an old von dutch (ugh) tee i had and when it turned out really well i did it on a t-shirt that i had turned into a muscle beach tank (you know big giant arm holes) down the center of the back... can't wait to wear this at the beach! i wanted it straight down the middle of the back but because of the fabric it veered to the side lolz... still looks kinda cool tho ;) i wanna make one that looks like Camille's, on a simple white v-neck all down the side)

DIY jewel studded vest... DONEZO!

i finished my DIY vest project :) ::suuuuper excited:: i was surprised i got it done so quickly... my baby came home from work and when i told him i had finished it even he said he didn't think i was gonna get it all done by today lolz... then i tried to explain the boring details to him about how i was using a dumb-ass stitch the first 60% of the vest then finally smartened up which is what sped me up... anywho... here is the finished product ladies and gents... i am extremely happy with the results... could not have asked for better ;D if you guys have any questions about what i did or the materials i used... just ask :) (sorry no "before" shots... it was just the plain black vest with no embellishments)

i'm up before the sun (DIY Edit)

blaaah i hate sharing a bed/room/house with people who have to get up early... it always messes with my sleep :( my BAE had to be at work at 6:30 today which meant he had to be up at 5:30... which meant I was up at 5:30 :( poopoo!

so now i'm up... perusing/following blogs... and thinking about this weekends DIY project that i gave myself (i don't want it to sound like i have one every weekend lolz but this one i just HAD to do)... my OOTD yesterday (which i might post a pic of at a later date because its in my camera back in LB) was just some cut off jeans, my boyfriends VERY old Garbage tee, an old black vest i had laying around my closet, and some flip flops... i actually really like this outfit... but as i was going about my day yesterday... i couldnt help but think how much i hated the material of the vest... it's like this cheap-o material they use when u buy 2 in 1 pieces (cuz it came with a striped button up)... i love everything else about it tho... the fit, style... so i'm not trying to chuck it just yet... so i got the idea to buy some studs/embelishments and re-fab it up a bit... i stopped by Joanns here in Temecula... and of course knowing their uptight conservative asses... they had not hard core metal studs lolz... blah! and when i get my heart set on doing something... i kind of get impatient and just find a substitute rather than holding out and getting what i first intended on getting... so i bought these sew on gem things instead... and i think they look pretty nice... i bought like 6 packs... but i'm thinking that may not be enough :(... so i  may go back today and pick up more... if they have any left... i have it laid out on the table for now... tryina formulate a plan of attack ;) lolz

i at first wanted to do just a whole cluster fuck of embelishments all over the vest (or at least a high concentration at the shoulders and that it just trickles off on the way down) but now i'm thinking i'll just do a border around the top front area (like in the picture)... what do you guys think??? i'm really partial to chaotic designs so a part of me really DOESNT want to do the organized border thing... but maybe it'll look better when i wear it? eh... i dunno... help me out guys!

Edit... ok guys... here are my two options... like i said... i'm leaning towards the chaotic one on the left (after i buy maybe another couple packs of gems it should look exactly the way i want.. oh and after sewing lolz) but if you really don't think it looks nice... i'd like to know! and if anyone has any other ideas as to how i could arrange the gems... please let me know that too! lolz
