NDOTD update!

NDOTD 3/25 - 8/25

Now sit back and please enjoy the barrage of web cam photos :)

3/25
[I arrived on Wednesday so this was my traveling outfit and since I take the train I don't really like to over do my oufits too much.
- men's long sleeve button up (thrifted)
- khaki shorts (wal mart)
- aviators (thrifted)]

4/25
[These were taken at like 6am because we were heading to my Bae's parent's house to spend some QT with them :) That first one is me being excited for my first ever chambray dress :D You can wear it with or without these little straps but you know damn well I'll never wear those things lolz And I've grown sooo fond of my love beads! Glad I could wear them with this dress.
- chambray dress (ross $16)
- brown cardigan (old)
- brown braided belt (ross $7)
- bead necklaces (beauty supply $1)
- colorful bangle (beauty supply $1) I really need to take a close up of this bangle because it's my favorite right now! It's like wooden but wrapped in this thread that changes color so it gives it this super colorful and really ethnic feel!]

5/25
[First off, excuse my boyfriend lolz I didn't feel like cropping him out. I've had this dress for a long time so it's nothing special but I thought I'd spice it up with this belt (that you will soon see I pretty much wore all weekend lolz) and my rough metallic bangles.
- printed brown halter dress (old)
- bangles (charlotte russe)
- thats the same belt you've seen and that you're gonna keep seeing lolz]

6/25
[Do not ask me why I am giving the tv a sad face lolz Nothing too special here once again. Got semi-dressed to go out to see Just Wright with my Bae's best friend while he was at work (how cool is it that we can do that! lolz)
- white and grey striped tee (wal mart $6)
- denim polka dot skirt (faith 21 $14)
- silver bird and rose charm necklace (gift)
- I just wore the silver bangles from the Charlotte Russe set]

7/25
[I just love lounging around in a maxi!
- brown (i think) Indian print maxi (ross $?)
- wore all my bangles together and can't forget the belt]

8/25
[Going home outfit, once again nothing too crazy mostly comfy because I was gonna be on quite a few trains.
- grey and maroon duo dress (faith21 old)
- darker grey leggings (target)
- momma here come that belt again! lolz]

Well everyone there is my NDOTD update for the weekend. I have a final tomorrow morning at 8 so I'm going to go ahead and bone up a little bit ;) lolz Goodnight!

BTW, I missed you guys! <3

p.s.
I really don't think I'm going to be able to do this proper typing mumbo jumbo lolz :/ It just doesn't feel like me!

first and foremost

I want to explain why I haven't posted anything substantial since Thursday. To put it plain and simply, I'm paranoid.

There has been a lot of discussion lately about being safe online, and not just referring to personal information like bank card numbers and social security numbers, but to such irl (in real life) information as where you live, you're work schedule, children, vacations, etc. There are a growing number of sites aimed towards basically staking out people's homes using just information people openly share on twitter, facebook, myspace, blogs, etc.

So basically because of this and all the other hooplah about the information you share online I got kind of paranoid when I went out of town to visit my boyfriend. I totally hesitated to blog because I knew I'd have to share with you guys that my photos are blah blah blah quality because I'm not at home blah blah blah, and I was scared of all the freaky hype because you know I, and I'm sure many of you guys, see all over facebook and twitter people talking about "woooo vacation! i'm gonna be away from my hosue for 3 weeks!" lolz you know that kind of stuff and it really made me think about how easy it is for some stranger to just figure out where your house is and when you're not going to be home!

I apologize if I end up making anyone else paranoid, but I had to share with you guys :/

By the way, I'm not scared of getting robbed... I mean, I'm shallow... but I know the neighborhood I live in and I know the likelihood of our tiny apartment being robbed and I know the value of my stuff lolz so its not that serious... it's just my mom being home alone when I'm gone that really makes me nervous to be like "hey guys i'm in Temecula. WOOOOH!"

Anywho, I'm not really sure if I should have shared this paranoia but oh well lolz and I'm not saying that I'm gonna not post when I'm out of town or anything, but who knows... if I get past this craziness then I might just go to regular scheduled programming... we shall see.

But for now I'm home and ready to rumble with my steel baseball bat if anyone wants to be on my property :) lolz

p.s.
You guys like my proper typing? I read everyone else's blogs and I kind of feel like an illiterate hobo when I compare it to my text on my blog lolz so we'll see if I can capitalize all my i's and use proper punctuation as opposed to my beloved "..." lolz

a little fluff

Lauren's weekly Fill In the Blanks :) (from the little things we do blog)

filling in between posts with my vain fluff lolz

1) the very best thing about summer is... the sun! the beach! less clothing! lolz lazy days by the kiddy pool, taking my niece and nephews to the beach, spending more time with friends. no matter how old i am summer will always be the epitome of fun as if everything fun and wonderful waits to happen 'til the summer lolz i think i just figured out when i'm gonna get married :P i know its not even summer yet, but look what it makes me do!!! hahahahahaha the only bike i'll ever be able to ride
[p.s. thats not my side boob/roll lmao]

2) my first crush ever was this asian kid in 3rd grade who had really good hair lmao i always wanted to play pogs with him but i was too shy :|

3) this may sound really silly but i will watch anything m.night shyamalan makes! i know everyone thinks that he makes crap films, but i think he is the maker of adult fairy tales :)

4) i squeeze my toothpaste from wherever! until its almost done then i'll start pushin it up towards the top. i find this easier than tryina push from the bottom the whole time plus it doesn't help sharin toothpaste with butt head ppl who squeeze right in the middle even when they see you're tryina do it from the bottom! ugh lolz /mini rant

5) my absolute favorite "comfort food" is my mom's spaghetti mmmmmmmmmmmmm so bad yet sooo wonderful!

6) a random fact about me is that i think im slightly and selectively ocd lolz if that makes sense. i'm crazy about whether i turned the stove off before bed or washing dishes (especially forks!) or buying anything (i inspect it almost inside out to make sure there aren't any imperfections that i can't tolerate) or a bunch of other random things.

7) the one piece of technology that truly makes my life better and i couldn't live without is a cell phone, i guess lolz i hate to admit it but they are just soooo necessary now a days!

cut up tee (this is the 1 i shredded in the back but sadly was unable to show off cuz it was so windy :( ) - target, old (says "pick flowers not fights" looove it!)
skirt - faith 21 ($14, if ur wondering where the horrific black elastic waist of doom went lolz i flipped it over and tucked it in thats why i had to wear the skirt lower cuz it was pretty short after that)
belt - target (men's $5 on sale)
yellow roxy tank (not visible) - ross, old (i wore this cuz the arm holes in the cut up tee are gigantic and i woulda flashed the whole world if my cardigan flew open, and it did, quite a bit lolz)

gold "california" ring - forever 21 ($6)
white skull ring - LBC farmer's market ($1)

if i had aspirations to become a film maker

this would be the star of my film :D

pink + hearts + rust + i love you + horrific mutilation = film by the Iza.

NDOTD 1/25... AAAND a DIY! aren't you lucky ;)

NDOTD (No Denim Of The Day) 1/25... damn this challenge already! i didn't wanna go out today lolz i wanted to stay inside and DIY every t-shirt i owned (after reading about this DIY on Fran Jayy's lovely blog) but just for youuuuu suckas... i got dressed :) and i had to go eat dinner & pick up sum necessities from the stoh' too... so yeah... blah...

[i was contemplating between the shirt tucked in or not... now that i look at it i kind of like the tucked in better even though it makes my torso look awkward hahaha <3 the awkward... well this was the final say...]
[cropped denim jacket - Faith 21 ($28), striped tee - old navy ($7 i think, on sale), black Free People skirt - thrifted, black leggings & simple skinny black headband - beauty supply/clothing store, necklace - island plus, big silver ring - charlotte russe ($4), big black jewel heart ring - gift (not visible)]

so while perusing a new blog i found (The Frantic Dreams of You're Modern Day Giant) i came across a DIY she's doing that she got from another blog i follow (Childhood Flames) for this awesomely simple/fun/grungy/did i mention awesome?! shredded tee! here's Camille's version (the simple v-neck, she also does a tank top in her tutorial video)

i was kind of confused on how to start the whole thing but i found this video that really simplifies it for anyone else who wants to try this

supplies:
- a knitted tee shirt or tank or anything! as long as its knitted (everyone keeps saying this doesn't work on woven fabrics, i have no technical knowledge so im just taking their word for it lolz)... and thats all!

here are my results, it looks almost like a mix between soft lace and cheese cloth... from far away lolz (i tested it out on an old von dutch (ugh) tee i had and when it turned out really well i did it on a t-shirt that i had turned into a muscle beach tank (you know big giant arm holes) down the center of the back... can't wait to wear this at the beach! i wanted it straight down the middle of the back but because of the fabric it veered to the side lolz... still looks kinda cool tho ;) i wanna make one that looks like Camille's, on a simple white v-neck all down the side)

official tissue

alriteee guys... i'm sure many of you heard me talk about on my vlog about a challenge i want to do...

well i am officially starting my challenge tomorrow May 10th (which means the next day i will be able to wear jean pants or shorts will be June 4th) you guys are totally more than welcome to join me in this challenge! if you guys didn't see me on my vlog, i am initiating this challenge for myself because of my recent 25th birthday and because of the progression of my style over the years and more importantly over the last few months.

i don't really have any rules besides that i cannot wear denim pants/capris/shorts for 25 days. if you're asking why these pieces... well its because they've always been my go-to clothing staples... not skirts or khakis or dresses... just jeans... so i thought it would be a tough challenge and would really force me to explore the other options in my closet.

i know its gonna be pretty tough on me only because i will be spending time at my boyfriends and i'm usually just lounging around his house... in jeans lolz and also im not really used to taking an outfit photo every single day so its almost like a double challenge lolz... well wish me luck guys! and good luck to any of you who want to join my challenge! obviously if u want to do this challenge too u don't necessarily have to start tomorrow, you just have to do 25 days straight ;)

ang mommy ko

to all the mothers out there, the big sisters, the grandmothers, the aunts... the strong women who work hard every day to make the best for anyone and everyone depending on them... you are true angels on earth... and we thank you for everything you do and we thank God for blessing us with you!

my favorite song for my momma <3

i wouldn't be here without you <3

generation F for Fucked

thanks to ms. LaLa's comment on my post about my AYFS tumblr blog I have realized that this is, in fact, MY blog... and i think it would be unfair and a disservice both to you guys as readers and myself to differentiate between the two hemispheres of the Iza and what i want to blog about... so im gonna stop with the Tumblr blog (for now, unless blogger irritates me enough to move myself completely over) and just throw everything down RIGHT HERE! i was scared that maybe my f-bomb laced ramble/rants would scare off those of the fatshionable nature... but like i said... it'd be dishonest (and i'd feel like a pussy) if i had a little sweet and sugary blog and another completely opposite fuck-this-wack-ass-mutha-fucker blog... so... for my readers... both present and future... you gotta take all or nothing :)

with that being said... i got some shit to share.

A couple things happened that got me a little extra irate about this topic... i always have this thought in my head about how youth/children in this generation are all (and by all i mean a large majority) fucked.

first i read this Fuck My Life entry on the site:

then some little kid (no older than 13) on the bus asks me rudely and very nonchalantly if i have 50 cents (obviously to give to him). when i say no he says nothing and turns back around as if i never existed.

now lets start with the FML post....... is this really a "FUCK MY LIFE" moment?! like... really?! you had to wipe your younger sister's poop butt for ONE fucking night... and all of a sudden your entire life is just in fucking shambles? to the point that you had to post your extremely traumatic day on the internet! how spoiled and just completely oblivious do you have to be raised to feel this disgusted and appalled at wiping your SISTERS butt!? when i first read it all i thought of was how there are so many young children/teens in poorer households RIGHT NOW that are probably wiping their younger siblings asses and doing homework and cooking dinner... all at the same fucking time!!!!! and i'm not even going to blame it on economical status because plenty of middle class, upper middle class, and maybe even a rare high class household... raise their children so they understand the value and purpose of hard work especially in accordance with family. oh... and why the hell aren't all the votes for "you totally deserved this"?! can you believe anyone else would even vote "i agree, your life sucks"??? thats fucking ridiculous... and makes me even more upset that there are other tools out there that share this idiots sentiment about having to do a little diaper/poop duty.

now as for that little kid who asked me for money, i know it may seem pretty trivial and run of the mill... especially if you live in a large city with a lot of pan handling and what not... but this kid just rubbed me the wrong way. like i said, especially in the LA area, you get a lot of ppl on public transport asking for change/handouts/donations/kindness/anything... and these people that usually ask me are people who wear their struggles on their faces and in their voices but even with that they manage to be polite and kind and often say "God bless you" or "have a nice day" or simply "thank you" even when I don't have change to spare... but when young kids/teenagers ask me... they are just rude and ungrateful (regardless if you give them change or not)... maybe its because they don't really need it... they want it for food or blunts or extra bus fair... i don't fucking know... all i know is that they always ask me in the rudest way possible... like its some twisted telemarketing scheme... i dont know... all i know is it makes me unhappy about how children and the younger generations are being raised these days.

so before anyone comes at me about generalizing with the youth... let me remind you that i may have used the word all, but i didn't mean ALL (remember, i said 'large majority' ;))... i know there are plenty of kids that are respectful, honest, know the value of a dollar, and would do anything for their families... i'm talking about the kids who bitch and moan like the one who wrote the FML post... kids who don't know what its like to work hard to help their family... who think that they're lives are over if they don't get a new range rover on their 16th birthday...

you notice that i'm not saying i don't like "spoiled" children... well thats because i have no problem with spoiling your kids... but it is a very thin line between deserved spoiling and spoiling rotten... when i was younger i pretty much got whatever i asked for (within reason, im still waiting on my horse Ma :|) but also because of certain events and situations, i learned at a young age that life is not always easy going and getting whatever you point at in the store, you have to appreciate whatever is given to you... whether its food on your table... or that stupid fucking furby you bitched for all week... and because of this and how i turned out... i fully intend to spoil my children... they will want for nothing... but they will know WHY they don't have to want for anything... they'll understand about hard work and the difference between want and necessity... and they sure as fucking hell will know how to help around the house... and even if they don't they won't wince at the thought of wiping their little sister's ass... lolz... i HOPE my children will be raised this way anyways... u best believe im gonna work my damndest to avoid it.

i suppose im done ranting now lolz
